Why should I keep an inventory?
Because if you don’t, you won’t know what you have, nor the condition of it.
Ask yourself, if I went home today and my house had been robbed or destroyed by fire, hurricane or other disaster would I be able to give an itemized description of everything I own? Remembering that each item you forget to include in your insurance claim, will only be replaced in the future if you buy it with your own money. With My Photo Inventory you will be able to provide your insurance company with descriptions and photographs of all your things.

Why would I store my inventory at My Photo Inventory?
Aside from providing a Free Access account to use, you can access your information anywhere, anytime as long as you have a computer or PDA that is connected to the internet. There is nothing to download and no risk of downloading any virus’s or spyware.

What if I purchase and download an inventory program from the internet?
By storing the information on your own computer you will also need to create a back up file and store it in a secure location. You will then need to update your back up file each time you update your inventory. If your computer is ever stolen, not only will you have to buy a new computer but you will have to purchase the inventory program again. By using My Photo Inventory, your inventory is secure with us and each time you add something in the future it is automatically backed up in our system.

How secure is my information on your site?
All your information ( photos / text etc ) is encrypted when it is entered, and by using the latest firewall, database and server technologies to protect your information we have made it virtually impossible for anyone else to access.

Could someone find out where my items are located?
No. We do not ask you to enter your phone number or address when you create an account.

Could someone find my financial information on your site?
No. All payments will be processed through Paypal (www.paypal.com) the worlds largest payment site to help ensure the security of the users financial information.

When signing up for a Full Access account, what credit cards do you accept?
We accept the two most common credit cards: Visa and Mastercard.

I don’t have an American Credit Card, how do I pay in US dollars?
You don't need an American Credit Card as long as it is a Visa or Mastercard, you can simply enter your payment details and your bank will make the conversion for you.

I would like a Full Access account but don’t have a credit card, what can I do?
We offer an alternative method of payment through Paypal.(www.paypal.com). It does not cost any money to open a Paypal account and you can then transfer money into your Paypal account from your bank account. Then when you sign up with My Photo Inventory you use the funds in your Paypal account.

Yes, you can at anytime and if you do it while your Free Access account is still active you can take advantage of the additional free months access that are offered to new Full Access users.

Do you offer incentives again when my initial Full Access account period expires?
Yes, we do as long as you re-register before your Full Access account period expires. Once your Full Access account period expires we welcome you to reactivate your account but you will not be entitled to take advantage of the incentives we offer.

Should I include everything in my inventory or just items of value?
It depends on whether or not you want to have to pay to replace some of the items if a disaster happens or if you want it to be covered by insurance. For instance your toaster, coffee maker and iron might only cost $50 each but together they cost $150. If you only include your toaster in your inventory then your insurance may only pay you the $50 for your toaster but you will have to pay $100 for a new coffee maker and iron.

How do I work out the value of the item?
This is a question best answered by your insurance advisor, but generally it is the value it would cost to replace the item.

How do I upload my pictures?
In the “Help” section there is a step by step explanation for you to follow and you will soon see just how quick and easy it is to upload photographs.

Should I just upload pictures?
We recommend that one of your photo spaces is always a photo of your receipt of the actual item. This way you have a record of the time, date and store that you bought the item from. Always ensure that your name, phone number, address and/or delivery address is not visible on the receipt when you take a photo of it.

What is the best way to keep my account up to date?
Once you have done your initial inventory the best way to keep your account up to date is that each time you purchase something of value, you simply take a picture of it and the receipt and add it to your account.

What is the Time and Date Certificate?
The purpose of this is to be able to prove the initial registration date of the item and all recorded changes to the item description and images since the initial registration date. Therefore when you print the The Registration Time and Date Certificate it will show you what was initially registered in the system for that item and all of the changes that have been made to that items images or descriptions since that day.

How long does the Free Access account last?
The Free Access account is never ending as long as you renew it each year.

Can I show other people my inventory without them being able to alter the information?
Yes, with the Full Access account there can be up to 5 users and you can give them all different levels of access.
